SPH Lippo Cikarang Students Won 2nd and 3rd Place in an International English Competition

SPH Lippo Cikarang sent three seventh grade students, Abigail Boen, Jose Manuel Wijaya, and Sung Yu Jin, to compete in the KGL Contest 2020.  They joined the English Literature competition. We are grateful that Sung Yu Jin and Abigail Boen have come out as the 2nd and 3rd place winners respectively. They were announced as the winners of Stage 2 or the second round of the contest, on the national level.

This year’s KGL was held at the Singapore International School, located in Pantai Indah Kapuk, North Jakarta, and this was the first time Indonesia hosted this international competition. The first round was held on February 8, 2020, and the second round on March 7, 2020. The contest should have proceeded to the KGL Global Event which was due to take place from June 4 to June 6 in Amiens, France. However, due to the extraordinary circumstances resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the KGL Global Event has been postponed.

Despite this situation, we are still proud of what our students have achieved. It was good news to hear in the midst of such a difficult time like this. Besides KGL, students from SPH LC often participate in various national and international competitions and we thank God for giving them outstanding knowledge, skills, and competency.
