“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.” — Isaiah 41:10

Sekolah Pelita Harapan (SPH) responds to the spread of the COVID-19 virus in Indonesia by implementing Online Home-based Learning for its students for 3 weeks starting from March 16, 2020, to April 6, 2020.

This is not a school closure as teachers and staff will continue their work as usual, especially preparing their material for students’ home-based learning, and students are expected to engage with their teachers in meaningful learning.

Additionally, we can assure you that there has been no COVID-19 case or suspected case within the SPH community. This is a preventive measure that we are taking to protect our school community.

Mr. Matthew Mann highlighted 6 points concerning our transition to home-based learning:

1. We have been investing in an advanced technology that enables home-based learning.
2. Continuity of learning is the key. We will continue learning units and lessons of instruction as our curriculum plans call for.
3. We need to be flexible and adaptable towards this new method of learning.
4. All the learning materials & assigned work through home-based learning will be highly purposeful.
5. The assigned work will be time-limited as well.
6. Communication with parents will be very smooth and very clear.

We hope that this message will clarify any misinformation out there & will encourage all of you to be excited to enter this time of using technology for meaningful learning.

Stay calm, for God is with you all. We also are with you and all SPH leaders are with you. May God protect us all.
