Teachers/Staff Appreciation Day and Sports Day at SPH Kemang Village

As a Christian community, we are called to serve and appreciate one another. We are grateful to God for our dedicated teachers and staff who have worked hard to ensure every student receives the best possible education.

A proper appreciation for teachers and staff encourages everyone to stay motivated and engaged in what they do. Research has shown that when appreciation is expressed, there is a mutual benefit for both parties. In a school setting, this can strengthen the relationship between teachers, staff, students, and parents, thus creating a more positive environment where everyone can flourish according to their talents and capabilities.

SPH Kemang Village is known for its tight-knit community, where teachers, parents, students, and staff are closely connected. This bonding and connectedness was evident at the Teachers and Staff Appreciation Day, held on Friday, February 15, 2019. Teachers and Staff Appreciation Day is an annual event organized by the SPH Kemang Village Parent Advisory Group (PAG).

This event aimed to show appreciation and gratitude to the teachers and staff who work at SPH Kemang Village. The PAG provided breakfast and lunch for all teachers and staff, including the field staff such as ISS and security staff. There was also a massage service for teachers. The next day, the PAG also held a parents and teachers sports day, where parents, teachers, and staff – including the security staff – played basketball, volleyball and ping pong together. Ibu Thessalonica Brenda, one of the SPH KV Kindy teachers, really enjoyed this event:

“I think this was a really great event to build up relationships between parents, teachers, staff, security, and ISS staff. It is good that we had time to set our differences aside and play sports together. It was intense, but also very fun: a wonderful program!”

From the Administrative Principal to the security staff and from parents to teachers, everyone was excited to be involved. Through these events, we can see there were no barriers between each other. As Paul said in Galatians 3:28:

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
