White Rock Christian Academy (Canada) Partnership with Sekolah Pelita Harapan

Around the world, you will not find many Christian schools that use IB curriculum.  You will find many schools with IB, but rarely any of them are Christian schools.  As one of the leading Christian and IB schools in the world, Sekolah Pelita Harapan continues to educate 21th century students with both a holistic approach and a strong Biblical foundation.

On Friday, January 19, 2018, representatives from White Rock Christian Academy – a Christian IB school in British Columbia, Canada – visited SPH Lippo Village. The purpose of their visit was to learn about how the IB curriculum can be applied in a Christian school context.

The six representatives of White Rock Christian Academy who visited our school were:

  1. David Michel: Head of School
  2. David Houston: Vice Chair, Board of Directors
  3. Sam Rehman: Director of Administration
  4. Kevin Mirchandani: Biblical Foundations Coordinator
  5. Terry Neufield: Student Life Coordinator and Athletic Director
  6. James Caswell: Arts Coordinator

As a former head of school at SPH Kemang Village, David Michel was already familiar with SPH’s effect within Indonesia.

“This is actually the third team of leaders that we brought to your school, so we could learn more about what you have been doing for many, many years here in Sekolah Pelita Harapan. I think it is interesting also to know that there are very few schools in the world that are Christian schools offering the IB continuum – and SPH is one of those schools. So it is a great partnership with you and certainly we look forward to continue our relationship with SPH,” David said.

It is our privilege to have such wonderful guests from White Rock Christian Academy, and we hope that our partnership may continue in the future. We pray that our schools will continue doing God’s work faithfully in preparing students to become future agents of change, who possess not only strong academic and creativity skills, but also godly character.
