This course is intended for Chemistry, Physics and Engineering Department majors or anyone else interested in learning to develop their intuition for problem-solving using formal and informal techniques. Involves the use of MATLAB, Excel and other computer tools for data analysis.

Dr. Jason Wilson Biola University
Dr. Jason Wilson is a dedicated statistician and educator in the Department of Math and Computer Science of Biola University where he oversees courses such as Introduction to Probability and Statistics, Business Statistics, and Biostatistics. He also teaches advanced courses in the math program, including Probability, Mathematical Statistics, and Statistical Consulting Practicum, as well as Statistics for Research in the Applied Psychology program. Dr. Wilson integrates his faith into his teaching, illustrating how mathematical principles reflect the nature of God and empower students to live purposefully. In 2019, he founded Biola’s Quantitative Consulting Center, providing statistical consulting services to the university and local businesses. His research interests span various fields, including evaluating baseball pitch quality and exploring topics for his upcoming book on Statistical Apologetics.
