SPH Equestrian Camp with Ms. Melanie Elizabeth offers an exclusive horse-riding experience for students aged 5 to 16, led by renowned SPH equestrian chief instructor Ms. Melanie, an Australian professional coach with over 30 years of international experience and a legacy of excellence, having helped establish SPH’s award-winning riding team in the 1990s. This thoughtfully curated program provides a graceful introduction to the world of horse riding, focusing not only on positions, body language, and care but also on the character development that comes from working closely with one of nature’s most noble and intelligent creatures.
Riders will participate in two kinds of bespoke sessions to ensure customized instruction:
- The Morning Riders Group (4 students/group) offers a fun yet meaningful introduction to horse care, gentle grooming, feeding, and bonding with riding sessions for individual students.
- The Afternoon Private Rider (1-on-1 private lesson) delves deeper into foundational equestrian skills, preparing them for the next stage of independent riding.
These classes will be available for students with little or no horse-riding experience through to experienced riders. For the morning group, we will group students based on age, level of riding, weight, and height,t as well as based on availability.
Throughout the program, students cultivate confidence, empathy, and discipline in a serene, nature-rich setting. Parents are warmly invited to share in the experience—observing their children’s progress, enjoying quiet moments at the stable, and even trying a guided ride themselves.

MEET OUR INSTRUCTOR
Melanie Elizabeth Chief Horse-riding Instructor
Ms. Melanie Elizabeth is a chief horse-riding instructor with a BA from University of Western Australia and over 30 years of experience in horse management & instructor certifications from Australia. As chief instructor, Ms. Melanie was a founding force behind the SPH Equestrian Center and its successful competition team in the 1990s. She remains closely connected with SPH alumni and the school’s riding legacy. Her professional background spans horse training, education, and emergency services, bringing a unique blend of discipline, care, and adaptability to every program she leads. Ms. Melanie is also experienced in working with children with learning disabilities and special needs, allowing her to tailor lessons to a wide range of ages and learning styles. Known for her calm leadership and commitment to safety, she creates an enriching, inclusive, and memorable experience for every student.
