Kimotion invites parents and their children to participate in an engaging 5-day summer school program designed for creative bonding and hands-on learning!
Grade 1-2 Class
This program introduces children to stop-motion clay animation through fun storytelling activities, fostering imagination and teamwork between parents and kids. Together, they will design simple clay characters, bring them to life using stop-motion techniques, and create a short, animated video that they can take home.
The program concludes with a Premiere Event, where parents, children, and families gather to watch the films they created and celebrate their creativity!
Theme: Making a Better World with Technology
Through this theme, students will explore how technology can be used to make the world safer, cleaner, and more inclusive.

Grade 3-6 Class
This program is designed to introduce young students (Grades 3–6) to claymation stop-motion animation while exploring technology and its role in making life better. This hands-on program encourages creative problem-solving, teamwork, and storytelling as students design characters and animate short films based on fun and meaningful themes like how technology can improve everyday life.
The program concludes with an exciting Premiere Event, where students showcase their final films and celebrate their creativity with family and friends.

Grade 7-12 Class
If your teens are interested in both the Arts and Technology, interdisciplinary studies, and real-world issues, this unique class is for them!
This program is designed to engage high school students in exploring real-world issues through critical discussions and the art and technology of claymation stop-motion animation. We integrate creativity with critical thinking and STEM as students work in teams to produce short films about the role of technology in improving lives.
Theme: The Future of AI in Improving Lives
Through this theme students will explore the ways AI can enhance quality of life, from healthcare to everyday convenience. Students will brainstorm, collaborate, design, and animate their ideas while exploring how technology, such as AI, robotics, and sustainable innovations, is shaping our future. The program culminates in a premiere event where students showcase their projects and invite family and friends to celebrate their work.

GRADE 1-2 CLASS

Day 1 | Introduction & Story Brainstorming | Introduction to claymation and basic stop-motion techniques. Parents and kids work together to brainstorm their story ideas. |
Day 2 | Character Design & Storyboarding | The parent-child team creates simple storyboards and design their clay characters (e.g. animals, robots, or family members) |
Day 3 | Clay Sculpting | Parents help children sculpt characters and props. Teams ensure their clay characters can stand and be easily animated. |
Day 4 | Shooting the Animation | Teams animate their story by capturing scenes frame by frame using stop-motion techniques. |
Day 5 | Editing & Premiere Event | Teams finish their short films and present them at a family-friendly Premiere Event. Certificates are given to all participants. |
GRADE 3-12 CLASS

Day 1 | Introduction & Brainstorming, Storyboarding & Character Design | Overview of stop-motion clay animation and the themes. Students form teams and brainstorm story ideas based on their chosen theme. Teams create storyboards to map out their animation and design key characters that reflect the theme. |
Day 2 | Clay Sculpting & Set Design | Students start to sculpt their characters using clay and design the props and sets needed for the animation. |
Day 3 | Clay Sculpting & Set Design | Students continue to sculpt their characters using clay and design the props and sets needed for the animation. Educators will help minimally with sculpting. Teaching sculpting techniques but not sculpting characters for participants. |
Day 4 | Animating the Story | Teams shoot the key scenes using stop-motion techniques, ensuring smooth movement and attention to detail. |
Day 5 | Editing & Premiere Event | Teams finish their short films and present them during a premiere event where family and friends are invited. |
