Does your child love asking “why” about the food on their plate? In this Science Summer Program in collaboration with Kiddo.id & Science Centre Singapore, your child explores food science through exciting, hands-on discovery.

Why does bread rise? How do bubbles form in drinks? What makes milk turn into a frozen treat? In every session, students become “Food Scientists of the Day,” investigating how physics and biology work together in the kitchen.

Through guided experiments with textures, colors, and reactions, your child sees how simple ingredients transform through science, building curiosity, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for the world around them.

What’s Cooking in the Lab?

• Day 1: The Magic of Transformation
  Your child will explore how ingredients change in surprising ways, turning juice into “Popping Boba” and making instant ice cream using salt and milk. Along the way, they’ll discover how simple molecular changes create the textures and flavors they love.
• Day 2: A Spectrum of Flavor
  Your child will investigate where colors come from and why they change. They will also get the chance to create M&M rainbows and extract natural pigments, uncovering the science behind every shade.
• Day 3: The Master Chef Scientist
  Time to create and experiment! Your kids will build edible structures with royal icing, shape their own edible clay, and bake a cake from scratch, watching real chemical reactions transform batter into a delicious final product.
