SPH Lippo Village Team Sweep Multiple Awards at UPH Moot Court in 2024 and 2025

The SPH Lippo Village Moot Court team has solidified its reputation as a premier force in legal advocacy, delivering a powerhouse performance at the UPH High School Moot Court Competition (HSMCC) for two consecutive years. Competing in a simulated courtroom environment that mirrors real-world legal proceedings, the team—comprised of Ava (Grade 10), Matthew (Grade 11), and Sean (Grade 11)—secured the title of First Breaking Team, Runner Up Team, and won the prestigious Best Combined Memorial award in both 2024 and 2025. Individual honors were equally remarkable, with Sean named Best Oralist in 2024, followed by Ava as Best Oralist in 2025, and Matthew as Second-Best Oralist 2025.
Beyond the trophies and accolades, the team attributes their success to the unique ethical foundation provided by SPH. Sean (Grade 11) reflects on how the competition became an extension of his faith, sharing that the school taught him to be a "Christ-centered debater." He explains, "This means I do not see my opponents as enemies simply because they have different perspectives. Instead, as Christ teaches, we must be compassionate to those who think differently. For me, debate is not only about defending what you believe, but about defending what is right and standing firm in Christian values." This blend of rigorous legal analysis and character-driven advocacy continues to set SPH students apart as they navigate complex social and legal landscapes with both precision and integrity.
