A Foundation of Faith: How the SPH Community Taught Me to Love and Lead

Samantha

Grade 9 Student

SPH Lippo Village

My experience in SPH began way back in kindergarten, even before I learned to write and count to ten. Now being at MYP, I really get to experience the epitome of holistic education. Being at MYP has matured me emotionally, socially, and most importantly spiritually. I’ve learned to view education as a means of developing my connection to God and myself. I’ve been able to dive deeper within myself and unlock new experiences, new interests, and make the greatest out of the skills that God has given me.

Personally the afterschool volleyball teams have not only improved my skill within the sport but has also built my character, teacher me to take initiative and have pride in the body that Ive been given. Theres not really a specific moment that I can mention from afterschool volleyball but I believe that the sport itself, especially when were about to have a game or go against another school, I’m give an excellent reminder that all I do must be for the glory of God. Thanks to Ms Olivia, my SMP volleyball coach, I am reminded that we must put our pride in God, that way failure can’t get to our hearts and success to our heads.

Being a part of the SPH community is being a part of a family that frameworks itself upon God’s intended purpose for connection and education. In all honesty, the SPH community has shown me spiritual love and empathy on so many different levels and has shaped me to be someone that God has intended for me to be. I think SPH has already shaped me into someone that is better. Better at treating the world with kindness and better at reviewing myself. I believe that it will continue implementing the Biblical Christian Worldview and positively impact my future, providing a blueprint for my character and identity in Christ
