SPH Kemang Village is beaming with pride as one of its own, Luc, a Grade 5 student, makes his debut as a published author at the prestigious Festival Karya Raya 2024. Luc’s book has been selected as one of the top 100 works to be printed and showcased at the festival, a remarkable achievement for the young writer.

The Festival Karya Raya, organized by @bookabook.id, is an annual event aimed at fostering a love for reading and creativity among children. It serves as the culmination of the Karya Raya program, which provides Indonesian children with the opportunity to develop their storytelling and writing skills. This year, Luc’s imaginative story and self-illustrated book stood out among numerous entries, earning him a spot in the festival’s top 100.

Luc expressed his excitement and gratitude for the support he received from SPH Kemang Village. “I learned a lot about writing stories at school and was thrilled to bring my ideas to life in a real book,” Luc said. He diligently worked on his story and illustrations for two months, a process he found both challenging and rewarding. Luc hopes his journey will inspire other children to embrace reading and writing with enthusiasm.

Luc’s book is now part of the collection at Perpustakaan Jakarta and the Junior School library at SPH Kemang Village. This addition allows fellow students to read and be inspired by Luc’s creativity and hard work. The school community is thrilled to see one of their own achieve such a significant milestone at a young age.

At SPH Kemang Village, fostering creativity and empowering students to explore their talents is a core value. Luc’s achievement is a testament to the school’s commitment to providing opportunities for students to shine. The Festival Karya Raya has given Luc a platform to showcase his talent, and the school looks forward to seeing more incredible stories and creativity from him in the future.

As Luc continues his journey as a young author, his story serves as a beacon of inspiration for other children to pursue their creative dreams. The Festival Karya Raya 2024 has not only celebrated Luc’s talent but also highlighted the importance of nurturing young minds through reading and writing.

We eagerly anticipate the bright futures of our talented students and invite you to support their journey with us. To learn more about our language and literacy programs, as well as our initiatives for global exposure, please visit our website or contact our admissions office.
